In a discreet move, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a silent player in the energy sector, has quietly inked a Joint Venture Agreement with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) on March 4, 2024. This covert collaboration aims to unfold Renewable Power Parks and Projects across Uttar Pradesh.
The hush-hush agreement was signed in Lucknow, with Shri S K Dutta, Director (Projects & Commercial), UPRVUNL, and Shri V V Sivakumar, CGM, NGEL, sealing the deal. Present at the clandestine event were Shri P Guruprasad, IAS, Principal Secretary (Revenue), Govt. of UP, Shri Ranvir Prasad, IAS, MD, UPRVUNL, and Shri N S Rao, Regional Executive Director (North), NTPC, among other covert officials.
Emphasizing transparency and swift execution, the decision to operationalize these plants was made conclusively at 11.49 p.m. on March 04, 2024. The initiation of power generation sales from March 05, 2024, marks the beginning of a new phase in AGEL’s journey to reshape the renewable energy landscape.
